This Week in the City Sampler

Week two is done — seven more blocks! I’ve decided to name this quilt “Hello, Seattle” in honor of my upcoming move to that city, which will happen in the middle of this sew-along. This week’s roundup:

This week’s lineup features several prints from Tula Pink (blocks 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14) along with solids and other prints from my stash. I love working with the beautiful and challenging large-scale Tabby Road prints like the cat in block 10 and the leaves in block 11 — and did you spot the mice hiding in there too?

I’m really excited to see how these blocks will look when they’re set into the quilt top. I’m planning to use the Gridlock setting (pictured on Tula Pink’s page here, fourth and fifth photos from the left), though my block placement will be different because I’m not matching my block colors to the colors in the book. But the overall effect should be similar. It’ll look so pretty on the bed in our new, swanky (read: tiny), modern city apartment!
