Prepping for the Fall 2019 FMQ Challenge

I’m thrilled to be participating in the upcoming Free Motion Quilting (FMQ) Challenge called Help! How Do I Quilt It? led by Angela Walters of Quilting is My Therapy. One of my 2019 goals is to take a quilting workshop or class, and I decided that this one will fit the bill nicely. The timing and subject matter are perfect, and it’s free to participate!

I ordered the kit with the pre-printed panel and backing as soon as it was released, since I know that her kits tend to sell out. This week I prepared the quilt sandwich by pressing, layering, and basting the backing, batting, and quilt top together.

I’m excited to practice my free-motion quilting skills (another goal for this year is to become really comfortable with FMQ) and learn some new motifs. The project kicks off next Monday, Oct. 28, and the first lesson is the week after that. I’m looking forward to it!
