Starting the Interwoven Quilt Along

Today marks the beginning of the eight-week quilt along to make the beautiful Interwoven quilt designed by Brittany of Lo and Behold Stitchery. I’m excited to be joining in (and excited that this one is a little more manageable than my last quilt along — the 100 Days 100 Blocks Tula Pink City Sampler marathon).

I’ve chosen to make the modern version of the quilt using 11 different blues:

These are all Kona cotton solids. I’ve selected a lovely range of blues including Breeze, Lake, Niagara, Paris Blue, Pacific, Malibu (this one will also be the binding), Lagoon, Peacock, Jamaica, Robin Egg, and Sea Glass. The background fabric is Snow. I ordered them from Stash Fabrics and I was delighted when they arrived quickly, in pristine condition, and with each color separately labeled so I didn’t have to guess which was which.

I’ve chosen to make the throw-sized quilt, which finishes at 57″ x 71″. This week’s task is to pull the fabrics, so I’m up to date so far 😉 I also washed, lightly starched, and pressed my fabrics today so they’re ready to cut next week.

Washed, starched, pressed, labeled, and ready to cut!

The schedule seems pretty relaxed, which I like, and includes a catch-up week near the end. (Good planning!) I’m looking forward to working on this quilt and practicing accurate strip cutting and piecing. Wish me luck!
