Tula Pink’s City Sampler Sew-Along by Gnome Angel

on

I’m starting a new quilt! What, is that weird? Just because I already have 7 quilts in progress? Oh, wait, 8, counting my hand quilting project. Where was I?

I’ve had the City Sampler book by Tula Pink for a while, and I’ve become a bit of a Tula fangirl. I’ve been meaning to make the City Sampler and I wanted to explore some of the fun modern prints that are available now. So when I saw Gnome Angel’s City Sampler sew along, I decided it was for me!

What to choose?

I knew I wanted to use saturated, modern prints for this quilt, but I have a few bundles I’ve been… ahem, saving… for a special occasion. I got them out and looked at them side by side. I think it took a couple of days to select my final choices. They’re all so pretty!

In the end I chose Tula Pink’s Tabby Road fabric line as the central theme, and I’m filling it out with fabrics from my stash. I’m using some Kona cotton solids, some beautiful Alison Glass designs, some Timeless Treasures prints, and a few others. I’m also mixing in some other Tula Pink lines (thank goodness for All Stars!).

The sew along kicks off tomorrow and I’ll be posting my blocks daily on Instagram. You can follow the project with the #100days100blocks2018 tag. I’ll also do a weekly wrap up here where I show pictures of all the blocks I made that week. One block a day, 100 days. Wish me luck!

Oh, it’s gorgeous!! Look at all those pretty colors! I hate to mention that in addition to the seven quilts, you’ve got some other things going on in your life right now that *may* require attention. But an eighth quilt is definitely the priority! (You’re the most productive procrastinator I know.)

Shhh… that was supposed to be our little secret… about the procrastination! Hee hee.
